Hey! I’m Alex, part time mermaid, Fertility Educator, Menstrual Cycle Coach and your new period bestie

I want you to feel thriving in life and move back into the wisdom that your body is fucking incredible.

How did I get here? There’s a lot of branches to my story, but my favourite (ie biggest kick in the ass) was this… Coming off the pill after 9 or so years in 2016, I had no effing clue what was going on in my body. Why on earth was I getting horrendous nausea mid cycle? Cataclysmic mood swings? Cracking

headaches and cramps? Alas, each time I went to a doctor, their first response was “are you pregnant?” Which I get they should check, but even when I bluntly told them I hadn’t been laid in like 6 months, they insisted I might be. And that was the spark that lit it all, it was a slow burn but it’s eventually led me here. That and the outrage our bodies are still so misunderstood, and ignored.

Before I donned my Period Talk superhero cape, I spent most of my 20s roaming the globe in a variety of jobs from scuba diving instructor to early childcare educator, marine conservation to hospitality and more.

When I’m not talking periods, I love camping, reading, soaking up nature or preparing for the arrival of my first child.

I’m a straight shooter that doesn’t take myself too seriously and I love a good laugh so if that sounds like someone you’d like to work with – I’m your woman!

Why Period Talk?

I want young women to not be ashamed when they need to leave work for cramps. For the girlies to ask each other for pads and tampons when they’re in strife. For partners to not make “she’s on her rags” jokes. For all the men that say “I can’t use condoms I don’t like how they feel” to take their own responsibility for birth control because forcing their partners onto Hormonal Birth Control for their own dick stimulation grinds my gears!

I’m starting my own little revolution. Women should feel confident in their bodies.

Women feeling fully comfortable and empowered in their bodies begins in understanding their bodies. We can’t have confident women without having knowledgeable women. It’s absolutely wild to me that this knowledge is left on the back burner. It’s time for women to come back to the innate knowledge of our bodies and own it.

Our cycles are our nature and the sooner we start to own them the sooner we come back to ourselves.
